VIKINGSONN

THE SOUND OF STEEL

How do you translate the sound of a shattering glacier into a guitar tone? For the 13 hymns that comprise our new album, the production process was a war in itself. We didn't want the music to sound "recorded"—we wanted it to sound forged. Every snare hit was designed to feel like a war-drum echoing through a mountain pass, and every vocal line carries the frost-bite of an Arctic gale.

We avoided the traps of modern "clean" production. Vikingsonn is raw. We captured the grit of the North by layering atmospheric textures that mimic the Aurora Borealis over crushing, distorted riffs. From the initial blast beats to the haunting synthesizers, "The Sound of Steel" is our technical manifesto. It is the bridge between ancient tribal percussion and the industrial weight of modern Metal.

This is the soundtrack for those who don't just listen to music, but feel the weight of the axe and the chill of the storm in every note.
